I’m Lance Burkitt, a professional photographer and creative director based in Rotherham, South Yorkshire.
For more than 20 years, I have photographed people, places, brands and ideas — from fashion and published editorial work to headshots, portraits, performers, travel and documentary photography.
Although the subject changes, my approach remains remarkably consistent.
I am interested in people.
Expression, body language, light, atmosphere and those moments when something genuine appears in front of the camera.
My work combines professional photographic craft with creative direction and more than two decades of experience. I work from my studio in Rotherham, close to Sheffield, and accept commissions throughout Yorkshire, the UK and internationally.

More Than Taking Pictures
Photography has been part of my life for more than two decades, but the thing that still interests me isn’t equipment.
It’s people.
I’ve worked across photography, music, filmmaking, education and creative leadership, and every part of that experience influences the way I approach a shoot.
Collaborating on ideas (I love collaboration)
Engaging in photographs that make me stop and look twice.
Most of all, I enjoy working with people to create something that feels like it could only have come from that particular conversation, person or moment.
